Do I Need Orthotics?

Orthotics are arch supports placed in your shoes that help to realign your body, enabling it to function better. A good analogy would be the wheel alignment of your car.  If the tyres and wheels are well maintained, your car performs better. Similarly, if you care for your joints you will experience less associated pain and your body will function better.

If your condition is diagnosed in the early stages, an orthotic may be recommended as a preventative measure.  Early detection reduces the likelihood of chronic pain and injuries, which is especially the case in children.

Pain in the heel, arch, knee, hip and back can be successfully treated with orthotics. Additionally, orthotics can be used in conjunction with other modes of treatment such as dry needling and trigger point release.  You may also benefit from foot mobilisation techniques or muscle strength and stretching programs.

Our Podiatrist has over 25 years of knowledge and experience in diagnosing biomechanical and musculoskeletal conditions.  He can prescribe custom-made orthotics using the highest grade materials to provide stability and support.
