A better approach to movement, health and wellbeing
An Osteopath sees people with aches and pains arising from the body during work, sport and life. We treat all pain and physical conditions affecting nerves, muscles, joints and bones.
Osteopathy is best described as musculoskeletal medicine, with its practitioners being skilled in manual examination, diagnosis, and treatment for musculoskeletal issues. Our core philosophical tenet recognises the unity of the person in pain, and how physical health relies on and affects the wellbeing of the person across many domains. If you are interested in more info about Osteopathy, check out Osteopathy Australia, the peak body representing Osteopaths in Australia. All Osteopaths at SHP are members of Osteopathy Australia.
Osteopaths are highly skilled in clinical reasoning, palpation and diagnosis of physical issues. We are particular skilled in teasing out the most relevant details of a your story of how you’ve become injured – and creating a treatment plan to remove the issue.
Osteopaths use gentle, hands on, effective techniques such as stretching, joint mobilisation, massage, exercise prescription and manipulation to provide pain relief. They also skilfully address the significant physical issues and dysfunction in your body that relate to your complaint.
